It’s party time!
Tis the season for lots of things, one of those things being food. I imagine that you guys are probably invited to a lot of parties around this time of year, or you are hosting some yourself (or you just want to snack on something while you are sitting around the christmas tree). I’ve developed a short list of really easy chocolatey things to make as a compliment to any event this time of year (or anytime of year). These are great, especially if you don’t have time to spend a few hours in the kitchen. No cooking required! And they are all a HUGE hit! Also, I am assuming below that you already have an idea of how to melt chocolate in the microwave, so I skipped specific instructions on that. If you don’t know how, google is a good idea.
Crush an entire package of Oreos into little crumbs
Add 1 package of softened cream cheese and stir together with the Oreo crumbs.
Shape mixture into bite size balls with your hands.
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth, and dip the Oreo balls into the chocolate.
Place onto wax paper and keep refrigerated.
(You can’t really mess these things up. Just go with whatever happens.) You can even sprinkle on some melted white chocolate, nuts, crushed peppermints, anything for decoration before you refrigerating.
Melt 1 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 small jar of peanut butter in the microwave until smooth. Use a large bowl.
Add 1 box of Rice Chex cereal and stir until all of the cereal is completely covered.
Place all of the chocolate/peanut butter cereal into a very large ziplock bag and pour in enough powdered sugar to coat all of the pieces nicely. (your call on the amount)
This stuff keeps for days (weeks)!
Melt 1 package of semi sweet chocolate chips and 1 package of butterscotch chips in the microwave until smooth. Use a large bowl.
Add 1 can or jar of plain peanuts. (salted or unsalted)
Add 1 can of shoe string potato sticks.
Mix all ingredients together and scoop spoonfuls onto wax paper. Keep refrigerated. I prefer to keep mine in the freezer!
Christmas Peanut Butter Crackers
Make as many peanut butter cracker sandwiches as you want to eat by spreading your favorite peanut butter onto your favorite cracker (something similar to Ritz Crackers are the tastiest!).
Melt 1 package (or 2) of semi sweet chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth.
Dip the peanut butter crackers into the chocolate using tongs or chopsticks.
Place onto wax paper and let cool. These are also fantastic refrigerated!
Also, I heard a secret for the best kind of sugar cookies. All you do is add 1 package of softened cream cheese to your favorite recipe and it will make for the best sugar cookie you have ever tasted! Eat those warm.
