My new SISTER

I have been so excited these past few weeks and months because I knew a secret that nobody else knew… my brother has been planning to propose to his beautiful lady.  And he did this week.  And she said yes!

Sweet Kayla is going to be a McPherson!  Kayla McPherson has a nice ring to it… Mrs. Kayla McPherson To Be.  It’s so beautiful!  After a very rough weekend, and a very rough day, my brother waltzed into Starbucks during her evening shift and got down on one knee.  And now I am filled with beautiful feelings about my new sister.

I met Kayla last year when I moved to Pennsylvania and liked her a lot.  A whole lot.  She was one of my very first friends, and I also knew that my brother was head over heels for her.  He asked her to be his girlfriend on my birthday… carved out a pumpkin that said, “Will you be my girlfriend?”.  And she carved out a pumpkin that said, “Yes!”.  And even though this event took place on my big day, it didn’t even bother me and didn’t even steal my thunder.  It added so much to an already wonderful celebration.  It was even one of those, “oh goodness I love Kayla so much that I don’t even want to be friends with her because I don’t want Bucky to be sad at me for being best friends with her if he doesn’t marry her” kind of thing.  But alas, no worries now!  She’s about to join our big family.  And I get to see her every Christmas for the rest of the Christmases to come.

I am so proud of them.
